About Murphy's Irish Pub

We offer first class wedding receptions, birthday parties, company events and family reunions. Our waitstaff and bartenders are extremely knowledgeable and professional. Murphy's Irish Pub is an Irish Pub in South Lake Tahoe, established in 2002, offering traditional English and Irish dishes and American style cuisine. We host many wedding ceremonies and receptions, being the only restaurant in Tahoe with an outdoor garden to hold weddings. We have weekly events and live music, happy hour daily and a friendly, cozy atmosphere that locals and tourists love.

Keith Simpson (Owner) opened Murphy's Irish Pub
& Rockwater Restaurant in 1996

Keith is from across the pond and has 40 years of restaurant and catering experience. Graduating from the London College of Hotel and Catering in 1975 he gained much experience as a chef in many of London's restaurants and hotels. His experience elevated him in 1985 to cater for the British Royal family including Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, Princess Diana and Prince Charles. He also catered to heads of the British Government including Prime Ministers, Margaret Thatcher and John Major for a period of 10 years.

During this time Keith was responsible for many large catering events for International Aerospace companies including Bell Textron, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon.

Since moving to the USA in 1996, Keith has owned and operated three successful restaurants and a catering company in California. Presently he owns Murphy's in Lake Tahoe and has consulted for numerous restaurant owner/operators improving their systems and achieving improved market exposure.

The future includes continuing to manage Murphy's while enjoying the business as a restaurant real estate broker, specializing in restaurant sales, assisting sellers and buyers to transfer their ownership interest.
